The definition of ART

As I was debating about different definitions of art, with a friend, I realized everyone has a

different view of the meaning. Then after further research I found that almost all dictionaries,

the internet and other bloggers define it differently as well. There are debates about sports being art,

and what art truly is? Art is there for our opinions to create the definition for.

There are many debates on art (http://www.debate.org/opinions/arts) but

I define art as what each individual perceives as beautiful, creative, captivating and passionate.

If someone loves sports then sports can be a form of art to them. If someone loves a person

they may feel that person is a form of art. A painting, a drawing, a photography, a dance, a sport,

a poem, a kiss, or even a smile can be art, if it wakes someone up inside and makes them come to life then

it can be defined as art. Online, art is defined as, “the expression or application of human creative skills and

imagination. Producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power”

My own art work: (photography, cooking, creating, making and much more)

I found a few pages on art if you want to see different ways it is “defined”:

Weekly Photo Challenge(s): Nostalgic, The Golden Hour, Fresh, Masterpiece, and Foreshadow

I am sorry I have been behind on my weekly challenges. I missed and added here Weekly Photo Challenge(s): Nostalgic, The Golden Hour, Fresh, Masterpiece, and  here is also this weeks challenge: Foreshadow.

Nostalgic: “Sometimes, we long for the past: for moments we want to remember or recapture. The good times. The golden years. Or perhaps we’re homesick, or longing for something — or someone — that might have been.”

IMG_8544 CAM00485

The Golden Hour: “ In photography, the “golden hour” is the first and last hour of sunlight of the day. Photographers venture out on sunrise hikes or sunset treks to capture a magical shot, due to the quality of the light during that time of day.”

IMG_9530 IMG_9528 IMG_9525  IMG_9276DSCN8579 DSCN7836 DSCN7696 DSCN7665

Fresh: “ The definition for fresh has a bit of a fork in it – it’s a state (new, recent, previously unknown) and it’s a taste or sensation (cool, sweet, invigorating, refreshing).

DSCN8497DSCN8502

Masterpiece: “No matter where you are (and where you’ve been), I’m certain you’ve stumbled upon something extraordinary: a place that blows your mind; a work of art or object that speaks to you; or even a location or scene that’s special, unusual, or even magical in some way.”

CAM00690IMG_0075 IMG_0074

This week’s Foreshadow: “We could see it coming in our rear view mirror: this bruise blooming, darkening the sky as it gained speed and intensity.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unique

20130208-004417.jpg

I chose Kiwi  aka Kiwifruit as being Unique because:

~ Eating 2 Kiwis is better then eat 4 oranges

~ You can replace any energy drink, coffee or caffeine with 2-4 Kiwis and it will still give you healthy energy!

~Ripe kiwi fruit can last in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

~Kiwifruit are the nutrition powerhouse of fruit

~Just like any other fruit, I can do endless things with Kiwi (see below for recipes and ideas)

More Information on Kiwis:

Eating kiwifruit with a meal reduces the oxidative stress on your body from that meal – especially if it is high-fat food

Kiwis are a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber.

Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange!

Fiber: Kiwi provides 16% of the RDA for fiber and has a role in the prevention of constipation and some cancers.

Nutrients: Kiwis have nutrients, which repair DNA, act as the body’s protection against some cancers, and function as antioxidants.

Folic Acid: Kiwi provides 10% of the RDA for folic acid, which is important for expectant mothers and works to produce red blood cells.

Vitamin C: One serving of kiwi gives the body 230% of the RDA for Vitamin C, which helps heal wounds, increase iron absorption, and boost the immune system.

Vitamin E: Kiwi provides 10% RDA for Vitamin E and decreases the risk of heart disease.

Calcium: Kiwi provides 5.5% of the RDA for Calcium.

Chromium: Kiwi aids in regulating heartbeats.

Copper: Kiwi provides 8% of the RDA for Copper.

Iron: Kiwi provides 4% of the RDA for Iron.

Magnesium: Kiwi provides 6% of the RDA for Magnesium, which  can enhance your energy level.

6 large kiwis peeled, cut into 1/3″-1/2″ thick rounds
1 cup dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup coconut oil
popsicle sticks or lollipop sticks

Slice the peeled kiwis into rounds with a lollipop stick in each one. Place on a tray lined with wax paper or parchment. Freeze for at least 4 hours and up to 48 hours.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Resolved (3)

Thanks to (Tea Time with Lindsey)

I decided to do a 7-day cleanse then starting my special meal plans

as part of my resolved resolution to

#2. Focus on Me

This 7-day cleanse was created by Jason Vale. I will start tomorrow by drinking the first juice: The Super Juice. The Super Juice contains apples, pineapple, cucumber, lime, avocado, wheatgrass, and I hear it is very good!

The way the plan works is that you drink juice every couple of hours (8:00am, 11:00am, 2:00pm, 5:00pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm), and the juice you drink changes so you are not drinking the same thing all of the time for 7 days.

After the 7-day cleanse is over, I will be making healthy meals with fresh foods and vegetables.

Thanks to my Vegan brother I will have a good coach through the delicious way to eat vegetables. These are not the complete recipes for the cleanse, just highlights. Message me if you want the full daily recipes.

Day 1: Apple, grapefruit, beets, carrots and blend. That’s why it’s so red. But delicious!!

Day 2: Butternut squash, carrots, and more blended and hot. Today’s was hot because I woke up feeling sick.

Lost 7 POUNDS!!

Day 3: Today’s choice was a fruity delight! Mango! And apples, oranges, parsley, and more blended to a delicious drink!

Day 4: Carrots, carrots and more carrots today! Lol veggie and fruit mix juice.

Day 5: Still alive!! Dedicated today to watermelon, grapes and love lol. Had to take it to go for school.

Day 6: Almost there! Love this juice. Mango, watermelon, lemon and joy.
Day 7: I’m in heaven! Last day calls for a great taste! Banana, watermelon, splash of lemon and excitement!
I lost TEN POUNDS!

Note: Each day I drank a juice, I did eat dinner at night (organic meals or salads only).
Hope you enjoyed this journey with me! Happy Healthy Friday!
